New Cadillac Models Arriving in 2027

Cadillac’s 2027 lineup is shaping up around a mix of redesigned gasoline vehicles and evolving electric models. The biggest confirmed arrival is a new generation of the XT5, while Cadillac has also committed to future replacements for the CT5 and XT6. Meanwhile, existing EVs such as the Lyriq, Optiq, and Vistiq receive meaningful 2027 updates rather than complete redesigns.

The Redesigned 2027 XT5 Is the Headline Arrival

The most clearly confirmed new Cadillac for the 2027 model year is the next-generation XT5. Cadillac plans to continue building the current XT5 through the end of 2026 before replacing it with a redesigned version for 2027. Car and Driver reports that the new XT5 has been confirmed for North America and will continue to use a gasoline engine, while a hybrid version is also possible (source).

That makes the XT5 especially significant because Cadillac had previously appeared ready to move away from some of its gasoline crossovers as its electric lineup expanded. GM has since confirmed that it is redesigning and extending the XT5, showing that the brand now expects gas-powered luxury SUVs to remain part of its portfolio alongside EVs (source).

A New CT5 Is Coming, but Not Necessarily During 2027

Cadillac has also confirmed development of a next-generation CT5 sedan. GM specifically identified the new CT5 in its product plans, ensuring that the luxury sport sedan will survive beyond the end of the current generation (source).

The timing requires caution, however. The current CT5 ends after the 2026 model year, but Car and Driver reports that the replacement will not be part of Cadillac’s 2027 lineup and that its exact return date remains uncertain (source). Buyers should therefore view the next CT5 as part of Cadillac’s near-term product revival, not as a vehicle definitively arriving during the 2027 model year.

The XT6 Is Also Scheduled to Return

Cadillac is reviving another familiar gasoline nameplate as well. The original XT6 ended production after the 2025 model year, leaving the electric Vistiq as Cadillac’s current three-row midsize alternative. Cadillac has since confirmed that a new gasoline-powered XT6 will return, reversing the earlier assumption that the nameplate had been permanently retired (source).

As with the CT5, Cadillac has not provided a firm 2027 launch date. Current reporting indicates that the returning XT6 will arrive after the redesigned XT5. That makes it relevant to Cadillac’s changing product direction, but it should not yet be presented as a confirmed 2027 showroom arrival.

The 2027 Optiq Adds a New Special Edition

Cadillac’s electric lineup is also receiving new variations for 2027. The Optiq itself carries over largely unchanged, but the performance-focused Optiq-V gains a limited Deep Ocean Edition. It combines Deep Ocean Tintcoat exterior paint with a Santorini Blue interior, carbon-fiber trim, blue brake calipers, and unique 21-inch wheels (source).

The broader Optiq range also receives several new exterior colors. Although this is not an all-new vehicle, the special edition gives Cadillac another distinct 2027 offering within its expanding electric portfolio.

Cadillac’s EVs Switch to Native NACS Charging

One of the most useful changes across Cadillac’s 2027 electric lineup is less visually dramatic. General Motors is moving its EVs to native North American Charging Standard ports for 2027, eliminating the need for an adapter at compatible NACS chargers. Cadillac models affected include the Lyriq, Optiq, Vistiq, Escalade IQ, and Escalade IQL (source).

The 2027 Lyriq therefore arrives with a native NACS charging port as one of its key model-year changes. It also gains additional exterior and interior color choices, while its basic powertrain lineup continues rather than being completely redesigned.

The Vistiq Returns With Targeted Updates

The Vistiq remains an important part of Cadillac’s 2027 lineup, but it should not be mistaken for an all-new model. It entered production before the 2027 model year and is now moving into its second year. For 2027, Cadillac changes several styling details, including replacing the previous silver grille accent with gloss black and removing the graphics from the rear quarter windows (source).

Its basic formula remains the same: three-row seating, dual-motor all-wheel drive, and 615 horsepower. The update is therefore best viewed as a refinement of an existing electric SUV rather than another new Cadillac launch.

What Cadillac’s 2027 Lineup Really Shows

Cadillac’s most important genuinely new 2027 arrival is the redesigned XT5. Beyond that, the model year brings new variants and updates to an already broad EV range, while additional gasoline-powered models are being prepared for later arrival.

The larger story is Cadillac’s change in strategy. The brand is no longer moving toward an EV-only lineup on its previous timetable. Instead, redesigned gasoline vehicles such as the XT5 will coexist with an expanding electric range. The future CT5 and XT6 reinforce that direction, even though buyers should not assume that both will reach showrooms during 2027.
